  1. Job Summary / JobPurpose (briefly state why does this job exist in 3-5 lines)

Under generalsupervision, the Radiologic Technologist (AART) II is responsible foroperates radiology equipment to make imaging films as directed by physiciansand performs radiographic and cardiopulmonary procedures for routine diagnosisand treatment purposes. Performs specializedprocedures for diagnosis and assistance in the design of treatment forpatients including venography, myelography and gastrointestinal exams.

  1. Key Responsibilities(list 5-8)
  • Produceand perform all diagnostic radiographs procedures, to be interpreted bythe physician or radiologist.
Position patients and adjust equipment for taking diagnostic images following established procedures.
  • Examineradiology film and/or digital exams for properties such as density andcontracts, definition, magnification and distortion.
  • Takex-rays of various portions of the body in order to diagnosis disease orinjury.
Follow safety principles, radiation protection, and the general comfort and care of the patient.
  • Recordtest results and monitors patient data.
  • Maintainradiographic log, in accordance with the policy, taking responsibilityfor documentation of exam, patient s name, and/or retake reason.
  • Maintainseparate report on all diagnostic x-rays.
  • Maintainaccurate department records to satisfy both the state and federalregulations.
File and maintain shipping and receiving log of radiographs and other diagnostic tests requested.
Maintain current MSDS forms for radiology department.
  • Calibrateand maintain x-ray equipment.
  • Performother duties as assigned.

  1. Job Requirements /Qualifications
  1. Education / Accreditation / Licensure (required &preferred):
Associate degree from accredited school of radiologic technologist required. 
Current/valid registration by the American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT) required. 
Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS) certification required. 
  1. Experience (required and preferred):
2 years clinical experience in radiologic technology required.
